The ScriptSure program was developed by a practicing physician more than fifteen years ago, making Daw Systems, Inc. the oldest company in the field of electronic prescribing. It was then that the first primitive version of the ScriptSure program was written in Basic programming language. This version of the program allowed prescriptions to be generated much more quickly than by hand. To legibly fill out a prescription takes, at the very quickest, 30 seconds. This early version of the program cut that time in half. However, the program and the computer industry had significant limitations then and it was nearly seven years before necessary functions and a printing system could be implemented.

After several iterations and tremendous resources devoted to research, development and programming, the Daw Systems, Inc. of today has the very best. ScriptSure now uses the comprehensive and continually updated First DataBank medical database and a printing system has been developed that is capable of printing a prescription in about one second. Five seconds is all that is required to generate a prescription, from the first keystroke to handing the printed prescription to the patient.

The ScriptSure program has evolved into much more than just a prescription writing program. It is a physician's workstation allowing physicians, assistant’s and nurses to perform a multitude of tasks (i.e. order lab tests, write referrals, produce patient and physician notes, print disease information sheets) and have an electronic record of all activities performed for every patient. The recent release of our latest ScriptSure version has improved even more with the integration of a dynamic multi-user scheduler. A PDA version and a full Electronic Medical Record (EMR) will be released in the future.
